The University of Toledo Career Services is launching a Student Employee of the Year award for 2018-19.

The guidelines for the Student Employee of the Year selection have been established by the National Student Employment Association and the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators.

According to Career Services, the honoree will be a student who, in her or his work role, exemplifies reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of contribution. Nominees will be evaluated based on those criteria.

The UT Student Employee of the Year winner will automatically be entered to contend for the state title, with the possibility of advancing to regionals and nationals.

“The University employs a workforce of 3,000 students that do a lot for their school, and a lot of them are putting their education to use,” said Joshua Vail, student employment specialist for Career Services. “This is just one way we’d like to give back and show a little recognition for them. We also will be hosting a reception for all of the students who were nominated, along with the supervisors who nominated them.”

Supervisors should submit their nominations forms via email by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14. The nomination form and a complete list of requirements can be found on the Career Services’ website.
