University Authors and Artists Exhibit to open
By Staff : March 26th, 2010
The 2010 University of Toledo Authors and Artists Exhibit will open with a reception honoring the authors and artists with works on display Monday, March 29, at 3:30 p.m. in the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections in Carlson Library.
The exhibit will feature the works of nearly 200 UT faculty who have published books, journal articles or conference papers or have produced creative works since 2008.
The free, public exhibit will be on display Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 30.
The display has been a yearly event in the library since 1950. This year’s exhibit marks the return of the tradition after a two-year absence, according to Barbara Floyd, director of the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections.
“The exhibit is an opportunity for faculty to show the products of their research and creativity to their colleagues, and for the community to see the type of work produced at the University,” she said.
Dr. John Murray, UT professor of economics, will provide the opening remarks, and President Lloyd Jacobs will welcome the attendees.
