UT students attempt to break world scuba diver record [video]

A group of students at The University of Toledo are spending the week underwater as they strive for a world record.

The Dive UT scuba diving club is attempting to break the record for longest continual divers underwater in an enclosed environment. The current record, according to the club, is six days and 21 hours, which they hope to top with seven consecutive days for a total of 168 hours.

The 330-gallon tote is located in the Student Union Trimble Lounge, where a number of students will take turns submerged in the water for the week. The students began the effort Monday, April 1, and will continue through Monday, April 8.

WXUT 88.3, UT’s student-run radio station, is providing a live stream video available at wxut.com/twostream.html.
