Rocket Social Media Day April 15

The University of Toledo Athletic Department will host Rocket Social Media Day Friday, April 15. Rocket fans are invited to follow their favorite teams through a variety of social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Cover It Live.
April 15 is also the date of the annual Blue and Gold Spring Football Game, which will be carried live on RocketVision on UT’s official Athletics website, www.UTRockets.com.
Kicking off Rocket Social Media Day will be the official merger of Rocky the Rocket’s Facebook page with the official UT Athletics Facebook page. As of 8 a.m. April 15, Rocky will close his Facebook page and take over the UT Athletics Facebook page.
Another highlight will be online chats with Rocket coaches and student-athletes at Cover It Live (Live Chat). Rocket fans will be able to submit questions in real-time to Football Coach Tim Beckman and Men’s Basketball Coach Tod Kowalczyk, as well as football player Eric Page, men’s basketball player Matt Smith and women’s basketball players Naama Shafir and Melissa Goodall.
Video interviews with UT Vice President and Athletic Director Mike O’Brien, UT coaches and student-athletes will be posted on YouTube and Facebook throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m.
Live updates on UT sporting events also will be posted on Twitter throughout the day.

The following is a tentative schedule for Rocket Social Media Day:
9 a.m. — Video interview with O’Brien (YouTube/Facebook). Video interviews with UT coaches and student-athletes will continue on Facebook and YouTube throughout the day.
10 a.m. — Online chat with Beckman and Page (Live Chat)
Noon — Online chat with Kowalczyk and sophomore forward Matt Smith (Live Chat)
1 p.m. — Women’s Tennis at Western Michigan University (Live updates on Twitter)
2 p.m. — Online chat with women’s basketball players Shafir and Goodall (Live Chat)
3:00 p.m. – Baseball at Bowling Green State University (Live updates on Twitter)
7 p.m. — Blue and Gold Spring Football Game in the Glass Bowl (RocketVision, Live updates on Twitter)
