A software company in the LaunchPad Incubation program at The University of Toledo is participating in a regional technology company conference this week presented by Rocket Ventures.

Roost, which has developed push notification software for desktop platforms, will give a company presentation at the TechConnect conference remotely from Silicon Valley where it is participating in the competitive Y Combinator accelerator.

TechConnect brings together technologists, entrepreneurs and business leaders to see highlights of the region’s companies and network with technology professionals.

The conference will take place Wednesday, July 9, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Toledo Museum of Art GlasSalon. There is no cost to attend, but online reservations are requested.

Roost helps websites engage readers by prompting visitors to receive push notifications. When users click on the notification, they are taken to the website’s new content. If the user does not click during the five-second window, the notice goes into the computer’s notification center.

Roost is engaged in the Y Combinator accelerator that provides seed investments, business consulting and other opportunities to help startup teams build their companies and pitch to investors or acquirers. The three-month program also includes weekly dinners with past Y Combinator alumni and top influencers in emerging technology.

In addition to Roost, the advanced materials and environmental technologies company AquaBlok and satellite imagery analysis company Blue Water Satellite will give presentations at the TechConnect event.
