The University of Toledo baseball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association.
This marks the third season in a row the Rockets have received this award. The Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by association members that post a grade-point average above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the most recent academic year.
A record number of teams were recognized with the 2017-18 Team Academic Excellence Award. In total, 287 college and high school programs received this year’s award, including 93 high school programs and 76 teams from NCAA Division III.
Toledo and Ball State were the two Mid-American Conference schools to receive the award.
