Parking lot closures for football games announced
By Chris Ankney : September 1st, 2010
The University of Toledo Police Department has released the locations and schedule of parking lot closures on days when the Rockets will host football games in the Glass Bowl.
Starting on Friday, Sept. 3, and on days of home football games, lots will be closed at various times throughout the day to allow for ample parking availability for community members who will be attending the games.
Lots 5, 7, 9 and 10 will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on game days. Vehicles parked in Lot 9 after 7 a.m. on game days will be towed.
Lots 3, 4, 18 and 28 will be closed starting at noon.

Sherri Kaspar, police support services manager for UT Police, said she realizes the closures could seem like a nuisance for faculty, staff and students.
“It may be inconvenient, but Rocket football games and other campus athletic events are one of the primary ways in which UT engages the outside community,” Kaspar said. “We all work hard to serve multiple audiences and make everyone feel included — and working to make sure our community has parking spots for the games is an important piece of that.”
The UT Police Department has set up a text message and e-mail alert program for anyone who parks in Lot 9 regularly and would like to be reminded when game days are approaching so his or her vehicle isn’t towed.

In addition to the lot closures above, on Saturday, Oct. 2, the day of the Homecoming football game, Lots 1N, 1S and Lot 2 will be closed starting at 7 a.m.
