UT pep rallies set for campus, downtown Toledo

See you at the pep rally! Celebrate 100 years of Toledo football and psych up for the game on campus and in downtown Toledo.

The UT cheerleaders, UT pep band and Rocky will perform at four downtown restaurants and pubs Friday, Sept. 15.

Locations and times of each stop are:

• 9:15 p.m. — Pizza Papalis, 519 Monroe St.;

• 9:30 p.m. — Ye Olde Durty Bird, 2 S. St Clair St.;

• 9:45 p.m. — Cock n’ Bull, 9 N. Huron St.; and

• 10 p.m. — The Blarney, 601 Monroe St.

Fans also can celebrate Homecoming Friday, Oct. 6. That downtown pep rally will begin at approximately the same time and stop at the same locations.

Rocket fans also will have the opportunity to attend pep rallies on campus Thursday, Sept. 14, and Wednesday, Oct. 4. Each pep rally will begin approximately at 12:30 p.m. and will be held on the Thompson Student Union steps on Centennial Mall.

Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, who led the Rockets to the 2004 Mid-American Conference Championship, will speak at the pep rally Thursday, Sept. 14.

Campus pep rallies will feature the Rocket football team, the UT Marching Band, the UT cheerleaders, Rocky, and Football Head Coach Jason Candle.

On Sept. 14, as part of the 100 years of Rocket football celebration, former Toledo and NFL quarterback Bruce Gradkowski will speak to the crowd.

UT students can earn Rocket Gold Reward points by checking in to the event via the Rocket Gold Rewards app through the SuperFanU smartphone app to win awards and prizes throughout the season while receiving giveaways from local sponsors.

Tickets for games are available at the UT Athletic Ticket Office, online at utrockets.com, or by calling 419.530.GOLD (4653). Tickets are half-off for UT employees and retirees, and UT students are admitted free to home games with ID.
