Join campus members for the annual community event Clean Your Streams Saturday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Attendees will clean up local stream banks on and near Main Campus and Health Science Campus.

“Clean Your Streams provides a great opportunity for the UT community to give back to our city and region by helping to improve the water resources of our local rivers and streams,” said Dr. Patrick Lawrence, professor and chair of the UT Department of Geography and Planning.

Last year, 224 volunteers from the UT community attended the event and removed more than 100 bags of debris from UT campuses, as well as along local streams and rivers.

The event includes free breakfast, a T-shirt, and an appreciation lunch picnic with food and prizes. Student organizations that participate also can enter a competition to win awards based on how many bags of debris they collect.

On the day of the event, sign-in will begin at 8 a.m. on the Law Center Patio.

Those wishing to participate should register by Monday, Sept. 18, at partnersforcleanstreams.org.
