Toledo won the Rocket Classic for the third straight year Tuesday with a 34-stroke victory over Ohio at the par-72, 5,931-yard Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio.

UT shot a 25-over par 889 (300-289-300), and senior Manisa Isavas earned medalist honors for the second time in three years.

Isavas, who edged classmates Sathika Ruenreong (74-72-75) and Morgan Salm (75-71-75) by one stroke for her second collegiate crown, carded a four-over par 220 (75-71-74). The trio entered the final round tied for first place at two-over par 146.

“It was an exciting day for us,” Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. “We put together three good scores as a team, but I think the key for us was [Monday’s] second round giving us a big cushion going into today. I’m very proud of the way Manisa, Sathika and Morgan played the entire tournament, and we need to carry that momentum into our final two tournaments of the fall.”

A pair of freshmen, Pimchanok Kawil (76-76-76=228) and Catriona Griffin (80-75-77=232), rounded out the Rockets’ lineup in sixth and 12th place, respectively.

Three more UT golfers competed as individuals. Freshman Natcha Daengpiem tied for eighth place at 14-over par 230 (75-76-79), sophomore Napaphan Phongpaiboon tied for 19th place at 19-over par 235 (80-78-77), and redshirt freshman Hannah Kochendoerfer placed 50th at 36-over par 252 (78-86-88).

Toledo will return to action next week with a trip to Noblesville, Ind., for the Preview Sunday and Monday, Oct. 11-12.
