As part of its efforts to increase faculty engagement, the UT Faculty Senate has launched a new initiative to encourage discussion about issues impacting higher education.

The first Faculty Forum event with State Rep. Dan Ramos (D-Lorain) will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Room 3018.

Ramos

Ramos was elected to the state legislature in 2010. He serves on the Finance and Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education and the Education and Career Readiness Committee, among other committees. Prior to elected office, he was a senior policy and budget analyst, legislative aide and caseworker at the Lorain County Job & Family Services.

The Faculty Forum will include brief opening remarks by Ramos followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is open to faculty, staff and students.

Faculty Senate is planning a second Faculty Forum event to take place during spring semester.
