UPDATED: Michigan researcher to speak at Lake Erie Center

Dr. Heather A. Triezenberg will visit the Lake Erie Center Thursday, Nov. 15.

The extension specialist and program leader of the Michigan Sea Grant for the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Department will speak at 7 p.m.

The title of her free, public talk is “Great Lakes Community-Engaged Scholarship and Professional Development Programs.”

Triezenberg coordinates the statewide Sea Grant Extension Program in collaboration with the Michigan State University Extension Greening Michigan Institute. Since 2014, she has worked with Michigan Seat Grant Extension educators and stakeholders on critical Great Lakes issues, including resilient communities and economies; health coastal ecosystems, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture; and environmental literacy.

She will discuss training programs for community-engaged scholarship offered in Michigan, and the associated evaluation of these efforts.

Triezenberg’s talk is part of the Lake Erie Center’s Public Lecture Series.

A shuttle will be available to transport passengers from UT’s Main Campus to the Lake Erie Center, 6200 Bayshore Road in Oregon, Ohio, and back. The shuttle will depart at 6:15 p.m. from the south side of Bowman-Oddy Laboratories, 3100 West Towerview Blvd. Passengers must reserve a spot by Tuesday, Nov. 13.
