Audition for ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ |

The UT department of theatre and film will hold a second round of auditions for the musical, “The Little Shop of Horrors.”
Auditions will take place in the Center for Performing Arts Center Theatre on Saturday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Callbacks will be from 2 to 6 p.m. later that day.
Those auditioning are asked to prepare a song to perform and a one-minute monologue.
The musical will be directed by Kirby Wahl, UT assistant professor of theatre, and will run from July 9 through Aug. 8.
Actors are needed for the following roles:
• Seymore — an insecure, put-upon florist clerk is in his mid-20s;
• Audrey — Seymore’s co-worker and the bleach-blonde secret love of his life;
• Mr. Mushnik — the boss of the floral shop, a failure of a florist;
• Orin — a tall, handsome dentist with sadistic tendencies;
• Crystal, Rhonette and Chiffon — three female street urchins who function as participants in the action and a Greek chorus; and
• The Voice of the Plant — sounds like Wolfman Jack and sings hot, funky blues.
