A total of 111 artists will bring their work to UT’s Centennial Mall on Main Campus for the 15th annual Art on the Mall.
The juried art fair will take place Sunday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Approximately 200,000 people have attended the free, public event the last 14 years, according to Eric Slough, director of alumni programming.
“Art on the Mall has been a great community event for the past 15 years,” Slough said. “The quality of the artwork and UT’s beautiful Centennial Mall has a part in creating a wonderful family atmosphere.”
The public is invited to check out works in watercolors, oils, photography, pen and ink, mixed media, wood, fiber, glass, ceramics and jewelry.
In addition, there’ll be live jazz and a children’s activity area where they can create their own masterpieces. Food also will be for sale.
Art on the Mall is sponsored by Huntington Bank, The Blade and the UT Medical Center.
Want a sneak peek of some works? Make plans to be at the UT Alumni Association’s Art on the Mall Kick-Off Gala Saturday, July 28, at 6 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium on Main Campus. Sample hors d’oeuvres from area restaurants, listen to live jazz, and check out and make bids on art pieces during the silent auction. Tickets are $50; proceeds will benefit the UT Alumni Association.
