Monday, April 8, at 5 p.m. is the deadline to submit poems for the UT Society for Environmental Education’s third annual EarthFest Environmental Poetry Contest. Cash $50 prizes will be awarded to one winner in each category: UT undergraduate and graduate students; UT faculty; UT staff; and off-campus community, age 16 and older. Poetry will be judged on content and form and must be original and relate to some aspect of nature or environmental issues. Winners will be announced and poems will be read Wednesday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in the Law Center Auditorium. Submissions must include name, category, and phone or e-mail address. Poems can be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to Dr. Linda Smith, Honors Program, mail stop 504; fax 419.530.6032; or e-mail lsmith2@uoft02.utoledo.edu. For more information, call 419.530.6039. The contest is co-sponsored by the UT Society for Environmental Education, the College of Law, the English department and the Humanities Institute. It is part of UT EarthFest, which runs from April 15-17.
