Counting Crows and Uncle Kracker will perform at the SeaGate Convention Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m.
The band is touring in support of their latest release, Hard Candy, which includes the single “American Girls.” Their fifth CD was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America last month.
Singer Adam Duritz met guitarist David Bryson in 1989 in the San Francisco Bay Area and the two began writing songs together, according to the band's web site, www.countingcrows.com. In 1990, they began performing, calling themselves Counting Crows. They recruited some musician friends and in 1993 released their debut August and Everything After, which featured “Mr. Jones,” “Round Here” and “Rain King.” The band hit the charts with their 1996 follow-up, Recovering the Satellites, which included “Daylight Fading.” After a live album in 1998, Counting Crows released This Desert Life in 1999 and was back on the airwaves with “Hanginaround.”
