The Student Medical Center is hosting an exciting new educational opportunity that focuses on the relationship between wellness and student success. Wellapalooza will be held Thursday, April 25, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Student Medical Center parking lot. The festival will offer activities and information that promote healthy choices and lifestyles; teach how the connection between mind, body and spirit can lead to wholeness; and how to enhance life through health and wellness education and activities.
Activities for the event will include massage stations, inflatable games, free health screenings, handwriting analysis.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the 5K Fun Run/Walk beginning at noon from the Wellapalooza tent. According to Norine Wasielewski, senior director of the center, student wellness is an important factor in student retention. “Even though the students’ courses may not specifically focus on wellness, it is truly an important part of the academic experience no matter what college they are in,” said Wasielewski. For more information on the free event or to register for the 5K run, contact the Student Medical Center at 419.530.3702.
