It's the holidays in the post-apocalyptic future – do you know where your turkey is?
University of Toledo audiences will get a special preview of the uniquely envisioned “Action” Saturday, April 29, before the production travels to the Jewel Box Theatre in New York City and to the Seventh International Festival of Drama in English in Debrecen, Hungary.
The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts Studio Theatre.
First performed in 1975, “Action” is playwright Sam Shepard’s look at what happens to two couples who are bored, hungry and stranded in a cabin after a mysterious “crisis.”
The UT production is directed by Cornel Gabara, UT visiting assistant professor of theatre, and features UT theatre students Pete Cross (Jeep), Tyree Troutman (Shooter), Nikki Soldner (Liza) and Nicole Corpus (Lupe). Crew members include UT students Todd Alexander, Zachery Durnell and Kevin Little.
The performance is open to the public. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door to help pay for travel expenses.
