Apple Tree enrolling for summer care |

The University of Toledo’s Apple Tree Nursery School is accepting applications for its summer school-age program.
The program is intended for children who have finished first grade and have not yet entered seventh grade. During the program, children will have the opportunity to become members of the Explorer’s Club, which has activities designed around discovering campus. The activities include swimming at the UT Student Recreation Center, crafts, games, cooking and outdoor games.
According to Karen Lakatos, administrative assistant for Apple Tree, full-time summer care costs $147 a week, which covers 30 or more hours of child care, daily homemade lunches and two snacks. Discounts are offered for UT students.
The program begins June 12 and includes four two-week sessions — June 16-23, June 26-July 27, July 10-21 and July 24-Aug. 4. Full- and part-time rates and schedules are available. Parents are encouraged to set their own schedule of attendance.
To enroll your children in the program, stop in and fill out an application at Apple Tree between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Applications also are available online at www.appletree.utoledo.edu.
