| Around 17,000 people visited campus last year to check out the juried art show on campus. |
On Sunday, July 27, art will take over the Centennial Mall during The University of Toledo Alumni Association’s Art on the Mall. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for the whole family.
The juried show will include works by 100 artists that are for sale. The artwork featured encompasses many media, including glass, ceramics, fiber, painting, photography and wood.
Three musical groups are scheduled to perform during the day, and refreshments will be for sale during the event.
Children will have a special tent, complete with activities just for them. They can have their faces painted, receive balloons and make crafts.
A kick-off party will be held the evening before the art show. The event will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium. The Dan Seeman Quartet will play music, and food will be provided by Tiger Lebanese Bakery, Mecca, the Vineyard, HJ’s Prime Cut, Avenue Bistro, Gladieux Catering and Gianno’s. A variety of items will be up for bid during the silent auction; all of the artists from Art on the Mall have been asked to donate a piece to the silent auction. Tickets for the kick-off party are $50.
Art on the Mall is presented by the UT Alumni Association and sponsored by The Blade and Huntington Bank.
