Art will abound on The University of Toledo Bancroft campus on Sunday, July 28, during the UT Alumni Association’s Art on the Mall. The juried show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Centennial Mall.
More than 100 artists will display works that are for sale. The artwork featured at the free, public event encompasses many media, including pottery, glasswork, prints, oil paintings, watercolor, photography, textiles, jewelry, wood and sculpture.
Three different musical groups are scheduled to perform during the day, and refreshments also will be for sale during the event. Children will have a special area in the center of the mall, complete with clowns and activities. They can have their faces painted, receive balloon animals, and make art projects to take home. A benefit party will be held the evening before the art show. On Saturday, July 27, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., the Centennial Mall will be the site of the event, complete with jazz music and a silent auction. People may bid on artistic pieces and gift certificates. All proceeds from the evening event and the auction will benefit the UT Art on the Mall Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $50. In case of rain, Art on the Mall and the benefit party will be moved to Savage Hall. Art on the Mall is presented by the UT Alumni Association and sponsored by The Blade and Huntington
