On Sunday, July 25, artisans, crafters and musicians will take over the Centennial Mall during The University of Toledo Alumni Association’s 12th annual Art on the Mall. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for the whole family.
The event will showcase works by 111 artists, including some UT alumni. The artwork featured encompasses many media, including glass, ceramics, fiber, painting, photography, wood and sculpture. All pieces exhibited are for sale.
Live jazz music, refreshments and children's activities will be a part of the event, as well. Children can have their faces painted and make their own artful crafts.
A kick-off party will be held the evening before the art show. The event will be held on Saturday, July 24, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium. Seven area restaurants will provide food for the evening and there will be an open bar. A variety of items will be up for bid during the silent auction, and jazz music will provide an audio backdrop for the event. Tickets for the kick-off party are $50 and can be purchased by contacting the UT Alumni Association.
All proceeds from Art on the Mall and the kick-off party benefit the UT Alumni Association.
Art on the Mall is presented by the UT Alumni Association and sponsored by The Blade, Huntington Bank, Buckeye CableSystem, WT05 Toledo's WB, 92.5 KISS-FM and 101.5 the River.
For more information on the free, public event, contact the UT Alumni Association at 419.530.2586.
