Detroit River, Western Lake Erie to be discussed May 15
    By Megan Lewis
    May 14, 2008

Dr. John Hartig, refuge manager of Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, will talk about the study, “State of the Strait,” Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the UT Lake Erie Center, 6200 Bayshore Road, Oregon.

Some environmental concerns of the Detroit River and Western Lake Erie are the introduction of exotic species, toxic contamination and land-use changes. The study, “State of the Strait,” monitors and manages these concerns and brings awareness of the area’s ecosystem status.

For more information on the free, public lecture, call UT Lake Erie Center at 419.530.8360.
