    Discover the history of downtown Toledo through summer walking tours

    Learn Glass City history during lunchtime hours this summer with Downtown Toledo Walking Tours.

    The free tours will take place rain or shine on Thursdays, July 10 through Sept. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. The tours are sponsored by the UT Urban Affairs Center and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. The tours are led by guides trained in Toledo history and architecture.

    Oliver House
    Downtown street parking is free between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

    The scheduled tours are:

    • July 10: Fort Industry, meet at Jefferson Avenue and Summit Street by the historic plaque.

    • July 17: Historic Church of St. Patrick, meet at 130 Avondale Ave. at 13th St.

    • July 24: Panoramic Toledo, meet on the river side of Navy Bistro.

    • July 31: Martin Luther King Plaza, meet on upper level of Central Union Terminal.

    • Aug. 7: Wall Street of Toledo, meet at Madison Avenue and Huron Street.

    • Aug. 14: View From the Rooftop, meet at the library at the corner of Madison and Michigan avenues.

    • Aug. 21: Halls of Justice-Civic Center Mall, meet at McKinley Statue at the courthouse on Adams Street.

    Fort Industry Square
    • Aug. 28: Avenue of the Arts, meet at the Professional Building at Monroe Street and Parkwood Avenue.

    • Sept. 4: Meet Me at the Oliver House, meet at main entrance to Maumee Bay Brewing Co., 27 Broadway St.

    • Sept. 11: Extreme Makeover — The Casey Pomeroy House, meet at 802 Huron St.

    • Sept. 18: Pop Flies in the Warehouse District, meet at main entrance to Fifth Third Field at Huron and Washington streets.

    Everyone who takes the tour will receive a free copy of Discover Downtown Toledo Tours Guidebook, a publication of the Urban Affairs Center Press. The publication can be purchased at uac.utoledo.edu for $5.
