The second annual “Science and Sensibility Project” from the Humanities Institute in the College of Arts and Sciences will kick off Wednesday, Dec. 3 with a talk from Dr. Victoria Ann Lewis. Lewis, an associate professor of theatre arts at the University of Redlands in California, will discuss how disabled playwrights and actors energize and deepen the stories that are shared with one another.
Her visit to campus will culminate in a talk titled “The Education of Tiny Tim, Disability, Democracy and the Theatre,” Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts Center Theatre.
Lewis also will offer student workshops in theatre and disability studies classes.
The series is co-sponsored by a grant from UT’s Program for Academic Excellence, the Humanities Institute, the Department of Theatre and Film, and the Disability Studies Program.
For more information about this free, public event or the lecture series, contact Dr. Charles Blatz, director of the Humanities Institute, at Charles.blatz@utoledo.edu.
