Local farmers’ produce will be in full bloom during Flower Days at the Toledo Farmers Market this Memorial Day weekend, May 26, 27 and 28.
On Sunday, May 27, celebrate Flower Day with 35 of the Toledo area’s best growers and greenhouse representatives, who will pack the market with their best flowers and plants. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur at noon will unveil the Maumee Valley Growers new Flower Power TARTA bus.
Amy Stone and other master gardeners will be available to help answer questions and give tips on plant care.
On Saturday, May 26, and Monday, May 28, local farmers will be on hand selling baked goods, produce, eggs, poultry and beef. Additionally, Toledoans can browse and buy a variety of artisans’ works, including yard art, crafts and flowers.
Boy Scouts Troop No. 68 will offer complimentary package assistance to ensure a relaxed, comfortable visit for shoppers. In addition, there will be musical entertainment.
Parking is free and easily available along Erie Street in front of the Erie Street Market and throughout the revitalized Warehouse District.
The event is sponsored in part by The University of Toledo Urban Affairs Greenhouse Cluster initiative.
