Ever wonder why the nights are getting longer or how Santa finds his way in the dark December sky? Find out at UT’s Ritter Planetarium’s holiday programs.
The programs are:
Holiday Lights: Fridays, Nov. 28-Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Each night the sun sets earlier, the nights get longer and the days get colder. This program traces the origins of the calendar and holiday celebrations, and examines how the two relate to the stars.
Santa’s Secret Star: Saturdays, Nov. 29-Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. It’s easy to get lost in the night sky. Find out how Santa uses the stars to find his way back to the North Pole. This educational program explores the winter constellations and explains why there are seasons and day and night.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children 3 and older and senior citizens, and free for children 2 and younger.
For more information on the programs, contact Ritter Planetarium at 419.530.4037 or go to www.rpbo.utoledo.edu.
