U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) will join northwest Ohio university and business leaders Wednesday, Dec. 3, for a summit on strategies to combat “brain drain.”
Attendees will discuss ways to train college students and Ohio workers for 21st century jobs and strategies to create and retain good-paying jobs in the state.
Brown and UT President Lloyd Jacobs will host the summit, which will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Hilton Toledo Elm Room on Health Science Campus.
The event will highlight “The Internship and Co-Op Factor in Work-Force Development.”
Brown’s office is holding six similar conferences throughout Ohio. These regional forums resulted from a first-of-its kind meeting of Ohio college presidents convened by Brown last April. Held in Washington, D.C., this conference was attended by 46 of Ohio’s college and university presidents.
