    AAUP, lecturers accept contract offers
    By Jon Strunk
    Mar 30, 2005

The University of Toledo chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the UT lecturers bargaining unit both voted to accept contract offers Tuesday.

According to Dr. Harvey Wolff, president of the UT-AAUP, 66 percent of tenured and tenure-track faculty voted to accept the contract. Eighty-three percent of lecturers accepted their contract offer.

Both contracts must now be approved by the board of trustees, which will vote on them at the April 27 meeting.

Negotiations with the Communication Workers of America Local 4530 are ongoing and will enter a fact-finding phase over the next several weeks, according to Jim Sciarini, associate vice president for human resources.
