Alum Named Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations
    By Rebecca K. Maggard
    Dec 11, 2002

Vern Snyder, vice president of institutional advancement for The University of Toledo, announced today that Daniel J. Saevig has been selected as the associate vice president for alumni relations.

The 41-year-old Toledo native and executive vice president for the Home Builders Association of Greater Toledo was tapped following a national search. He will start on Jan. 13 and earn $87,000 annually.

This is Saevig third post with UT’s Office of Alumni Relations. He served as executive director of the Alumni Association from 1993 to 1999 and as assistant director from 1990 to 1993. "Dan brings to the position a great combination of prior experience within the institution as well as strong experience in the community,” said Snyder. “I'm confident he will bring the leadership necessary for us to be more responsive to our alumni and offer them the right mix of programming and opportunities for engagement with UT."

Saevig received a bachelor of arts degree in communication and a master of business administration degree from UT in 1984 and 1989, respectively.

In addition to the University, Saevig has worked as a sports reporter for WTVG and WNWO. He also is a part-time sports writer for The Blade.

According to Saevig, he’s excited to have the opportunity to return to UT. “The University is a very important institution in our community, and I am looking forward to working with the administration, Alumni Association board and the entire alumni body to help grow the scope and success of the institution,” said Saevig.
