Art on the Mall Honored by Toledo Art Societies |

The Toledo Federation of Art Societies recently honored The University of Toledo Alumni Association for its work to promote the arts in the area.
According to Jeff Huffman, interim executive director of Alumni Relations, the award was given to the Alumni Association for its dedication to leadership and tireless efforts on behalf of the arts. This marked the association’s 10th year of Art on the Mall.
Art on the Mall provides artists affiliated with the University of venue to showcase and sell their work. This year, the Art on the Mall preview party raised $10,000 for scholarships.
More than 100 artists and 18,000 visitors turned out for this year’s event on July 28. The winner’s of this year’s show are:
Best of Show:Linda Ziemke, Maumee – ceramics/porcelain;
Purchase Award:Rex Fogt, Whitehouse – ceramics/porcelain;
First Place: Brian Donahue, Whitehouse – wood;
Cindy Beadle, Royal Oak, Mich. – basketry and gourds;
Second Place:Craig Broughton, Maumee – blown glass;
Mike Kozumplik, Sherwood, Ohio – jewelry;
Third Place: Mary Pencheff, Toledo – photography; and
Aaron Bivins, Toledo – watercolor.
