Board approves plan for non-union salary increases
    By Tobin J. Klinger
    Apr 24, 2002

Non-unionized employees will be eligible for merit increases in the next fiscal year, under a plan approved by the board of trustees.

The resolution gives the administration the authority to grant merit raises to administrative, superannuate and College of Law faculty in the University’s employ on March 31, 2002. The raises would come from a pool of funds equal to 4.5 percent of the salaries for these groups. In addition, these categories of non-unionized faculty would also be eligible for a 1 percent merit raise, retroactive to January 1.

Meanwhile, classified exempt staff will receive a 4 percent across the board raise for those employed at the time of implementation. Unclassified staff members, employed as of March 31, 2002, will also receive merit based increases, from a 4 percent pool.

The increases will be implemented in fiscal year 2003.
