UT College of Law alumnus Jeff Bixler and his wife, Kathy, have given $250,000 to the College of Law in support of its Legal Clinic and the Discretionary Fund.
The Legal Clinic provides opportunities for students to learn about the legal needs of poor and low-income individuals.
“The portion of our gift that benefits the clinic reflects our strong belief that all persons should have equal access to quality legal services,” Bixler said. “Additionally, we wished to support the mission of the college and emerging needs of the college as they arise. Kathy and I hope that our gift will encourage others in their support of the College of Law.”
Bixler is a 1972 graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law and retired general counsel of Manor Care Inc.
The college will hold a celebratory reception Thursday, Dec. 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Legal Clinic in the Law Center on Main Campus.
