    By Jon Strunk
    Nov 8, 2005

In keeping with its ongoing mission of outreach to regional business leaders, The University of Toledo’s Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales will hold is second annual Executive Sales Summit Friday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Student Union Room 2592.

This year’s focus will be on “Business as a Value Delivery System: Choosing, Providing, and Communicating Value.” The summit will include a pair of keynote speeches, one by Kevin J. Stevens, vice president of global marketing, at Owens-Illinois Inc. and one by Jimmiee Gaulden, manager of talent management for 3M. There will also be breakout sessions designed to help those in sales better communicate value.

“This will be very beneficial for those in a sales leadership roles,” said Dr. Tom Gutteridge, dean of the UT College of Business Administration. “This event offers insight into the challenges facing sales organizations in today’s competitive marketplace.”

The College of Business Administration is the region’s innovative leader for developing entry-level, sales-ready talent and offering sales-related training, research, and consulting assistance, Gutteridge said, “but our commitment to area businessmen and women doesn’t end once they earn a degree.”

“As part of the Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales’ mission, our training and research is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of our students and our business partner community,” said Dr. Richard Buchrer, the program’s director.
