| The Rockets tackled Michigan running back Sam McGuffie en route to a 13-10 victory over the Wolverines Saturday in the Big House in Ann Arbor. |
The Michigan Wolverines had never lost to a team from the Mid-American Conference — until they faced the Toledo Rockets.
It was the first meeting between the two teams, and the Rockets won, 13-10, at the Big House in Ann Arbor Saturday.
Make Michigan’s record against MAC teams 24-1.
Toledo scored first when senior free safety Tyrrell Herbert picked off a pass and made the Wolverines pay as he ran 100 yards to cash in for a touchdown.

But the Rockets were revved up for the second half. Junior Alex Steigerwald kicked a field goal in the third quarter to tie the game and then booted a 48-yarder that bounced off the crossbar and through the uprights to give Toledo the lead, 13-10, early in the fourth quarter.
The Rockets racked up 329 yards in total offense, with junior quarterback Aaron Opelt throwing for 257 yards. Senior wide receiver Nick Moore caught 20 passes for 162 yards.
