    Administration Division leadership team announced
    By Tobin J. Klinger
    Jul 26, 2006

    The leadership team for the newly created Administration Division has been finalized, according to Bill Logie, vice president for administration.

    “This is an exciting time for the institution and our division,” Logie said. “Working together, we can meet our goals and accomplish our mission.”

    Under the new structure, the facilities area has been divided into two distinct units —Facilities and Construction and Facilities Operations — a move designed to allow better management of building and renovation needs, while placing equal emphasis on the daily maintenance efforts that are so important to the institution.

    Meanwhile, University Health Services on the Health Science Campus will be combined with the Main Campus’ Student Medical Center, currently housed within the Division of Student Life, with an ultimate plan to transition the operations to the College of Medicine.

    Also, a new bureau has been created within the Police Department to better integrate the concept of “student-centeredness” into daily activities. Lt. Julie Rightnowar will lead the University Student/Residence Life Bureau, with a dotted line reporting to Dr. Kaye Patten Wallace, vice president for student life.

    The leadership team includes:

    • Chuck Lehnert, associate vice president for facilities and construction;

    • Diana Ganues, acting director of facilities operations;

    • Jim Sciarini, associate vice president for human resources, who will continue to provide leadership to HR on the Main Campus;

    • Crystal Dixon, associate vice president for human resources, who will continue to provide leadership to HR for the Health Science Campus;

    • Teri Lee, acting associate vice president for purchasing services;

    • Joe Sawasky, associate vice president and chief information officer;

    • Lt. Jeff Newton, acting chief of police;

    • Gary Jankowski, director of safety, who will continue in his role overseeing issues on the Health Science Campus; and

    • David Hopka, director of safety and risk management, who will continue in his role overseeing issues on the Main Campus.

    “We are working hard to achieve our goal of maximizing resources and developing the team that will help propel us toward excellence,” Logie said. “I am confident that we have developed such a team.”
