The new year is under way, and for some that means a new health-care plan. It also means that some customers at the Outpatient Pharmacy and the Student Medical Center Pharmacy are adjusting to new requirements of their health-care plan.
“As a requirement of the newly introduced Aetna plan, customers are required to show their prescription card each time they pick up from one of our pharmacies,” said Joel Tavormina, interim director of pharmacy.
“This is a change, as plans in the past didn’t have this requirement,” Tavormina added.
“Aetna sent the cards to employees covered under the plan during the month of December,” said Laura Miller, director of benefits. “It is imperative that you bring it with you when picking up your medication, because otherwise the prescription cannot be dispensed.”
If you are an Aetna customer but have not received a card or have questions about the plan, contact Aetna Member Services at 1.800.435.4781.
