Break dancer with muscle disorder to perform at UT
    By Chelsea-Lynn Carey
    Oct 19, 2007

Luca “LazyLegz” Patuelli will break dance in Doermann Theater on Main Campus Monday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.

His performance at UT will highlight Disability Awareness Month.

Luca LazyLegz Patuelli break dances on the beach.
Patuelli was born with arthrogryposis, a muscle disorder that limits mobility in the joints that normally affects the entire body; however, this condition only affected Patuelli’s legs, according to his Web site at www.lazylegz.com.

He has had 16 surgeries on his legs and spine, but his disability has never held him back. Patuelli has been involved with swimming, diving, skiing, skateboarding, sailing, driving and break dancing.

Patuelli has competed in many major break dancing competitions, including Freestyle Sessions 8, City vs. City 5, Evolution 2 and War is War.

In 2004, Patuelli joined Illmatic Styles, a well-known crew of break dancers in Canada. Working together, they have participated and won many competitions, including Back to the Underground and Last Man Standing.

The free, public performance is sponsored by Campus Activities and Programming, the Office of Accessibility and the Office of Multicultural Student Services.
