The Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women will host a brown-bag seminar each Thursday during fall semester from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Jane Eberly Eager Conference Room in Tucker Hall Room 0180 on Main Campus.
Topics and speakers will be:
• Menopause Sept. 20 by Dr. Linda French, UT professor and chair of family medicine.
• Poetry and International Politics: A Report From Scotland Sept. 27 by Dr. Sharon L. Barnes, UT associate professor of interdisciplinary and special programs.
• A Woman’s World: Discovering the Dynamic Menstrual Cycle Oct. 4 by Joan Moon, UT assistant professor of nursing.
• Teaching Gender Studies in Costa Rica Oct. 11 with Dr. Marietta Morrissey, associate dean of the UT College of Arts and Sciences.
• Womanhood, HIV and Sexual Assault in Tanzania Oct. 18 with Elinami Swai, UT assistant professor of women and gender studies.
• Being a Good Parent …What Is It All About? Oct. 25 with Margaret Wuert, director of the Children’s Rights Council of Northwest Ohio.
• Getting Started in Business Nov. 1 with Dr. Linda E. Bowyer, UT associate professor of finance and director of Women’s Entrepreneurial Network Training Center.
• Revisiting the Body State: A Discussion Concerning Politics, Bodies and Behaviors Nov. 8 by Tinola Mayfield, UT graduate student in philosophy.
• The Key to Unlocking the Promise: Women’s Access to Higher Education Nov. 15 with Dr. Jamie Barlowe, UT professor and interim chair of women’s and gender studies.
