| The Cross Movement |
The Cross Movement, a Christian hip-hop group from Philadelphia, will perform in The University of Toledo’s Doermann Theater on Main Campus Saturday, March 17, at 6 p.m.
The group features four solo rappers — The Ambassador (William Branch), The Tonic (John Wells), Phanatik (Brady Goodwin) and Tru-Life (Virgil Byrd).
Nominated for a Grammy Award last year, the Cross Movement uses biblical and Christian theology in their rap music. The group has released six discs, including Holy Culture (2003) and Higher Definition (2004).
Also scheduled to appear at the University are Lecrae, JR and Flame (Marcus Gray).
Lecrae’s second release, After the Music Stops, debuted at No. 8 on Billboard’s gospel chart last August.
Tickets for the concert are $8 for students and $10 for general admission. The first 20 UT students with ID will be admitted free.
The show is sponsored in part by the Impact Movement.
