Christmas tree sales to benefit employee’s daughter
    By Vicki L. Kroll
    Nov 30, 2006

Looking for the perfect Christmas tree? Stop by the Whitehouse Tree Farm located at 11500 Obee Road in Whitehouse this weekend.

For every tree sold Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3, the farm will donate $5 to the Progeria Research Foundation to help Kaylee Halko, daughter of Tim Halko, UT accountant in the Accounting Department on the Health Science Campus.

Kaylee, 3, was diagnosed with progeria, a rare, fatal disease characterized by accelerated aging, in 2004.

The Progeria Research Foundation is in the middle of a campaign to raise $2 million to fund a clinical drug trial for children. Kaylee will start treatment in early 2007.

For more information, go to www.sweetkaylee.com or www.progeriaresearch.org.
