Colonel to talk about training new Iraqi army |

Col. Christian P.M. Klinefelter will give a talk titled “Training the New Iraqi Army” Thursday, Sept. 28, at noon in the Law Center Auditorium on UT’s Main Campus.
For nearly two years, Klinefelter has been training the new Iraqi Army as a senior adviser to Iraqi Army Brigades, as base commander at the Al Kasik Military Training Base, and as defense staff processes adviser for the Ministry of Defense Transition Team. He has served all over Iraq, including in An Numaniyah, Fallujah and Baghdad.
A graduate of the Citadel who joined the military in Navy ROTC in 1975, Klinefelter has nearly 30 years of commissioned service. He rose to captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and later was appointed a major and then lieutenant colonel in the Ohio Army National Guard. He was appointed colonel in the U.S. Army in 2005. He has been awarded numerous decorations, service medals and badges, including the Bronze Star Medal.
