Forensic anthropologists Julie and Frank Saul will lecture to anthropology, law and social thought, and sociology students about death scene investigations.
“Allowing the Dead to Speak for Themselves: The ‘Real’ Role of Forensic Anthropology in Death Investigation” will take place Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in Student Union Room 2592 on Main Campus.
Although the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at UT does not offer courses in forensic anthropology, student interest and curiosity is high because of the number of crime scene investigation shows on television, according to Dr. Willie L. McKether, UT assistant professor of anthropology.
Julie Saul is the director of the Forensic Anthropology Laboratory at the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, and Frank Saul is the senior consultant.
This lecture is not open to the public. Some of the cases shown and discussed are "graphic" and may be distressing to some members of the audience.
For more information, contact McKether at 419.530.4394.
