Provost to serve on Toledo Zoo Board of Directors
    By Jacob Corkins
    Jul 9, 2008

    Haggett
Dr. Rosemary Haggett, Main Campus provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Toledo Zoo Board of Directors.

Haggett was chosen for her background in biological studies and her interest in education, according to Dr. Anne Baker, executive director for the Toledo Zoo.

“As an informal education facility, we were looking for someone interested in education,” Baker said. “We are excited to have her on the board.”

Haggett said that she is honored to be a board member. “The Toledo Zoo is one of the best things about Toledo. I am pleased and excited to do whatever I can to support it and to work with other board members to plan its future,” she said.

Before coming to UT in 2007, Haggett worked in various roles for the National Science Foundation for four years. She also served as associate provost for academic programs at West Virginia University and as dean of its College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences, while holding the rank of professor of animal and veterinary sciences.
