Two shows at Ritter Planetarium will shine on the stars during May.
What are stars? How do they begin? What keeps them shining? What ultimately happens to them when they run low on fuel? A new program, “The Lives and Deaths of Stars,” will take a tour of the Milky Way and look at exotic objects, including supernovas, white dwarfs and black holes. This program will be offered Fridays at 8:30 p.m. through May 30.
A radio-style program covering constellations, shooting stars, comets and moons, “Amazing Stargazing” is a fast-paced and thrilling introduction to many aspects of the nighttime sky. This program will be offered Saturdays through May 31 at 1 p.m.
After each evening program, observing will be offered in the Brooks Observatory. All observing is weather permitting.
These programs are $5 for adults, $4 for children 3 and older and senior citizens, and free for children 2 and younger. Doors open 30 minutes before each program.
For more information about the programs, call 419.530.2650 or go to http://utoledo.edu/as/rpbo/.
